Large Business Customers


At Ausgrid we are planning for the future, to understand how we can become a better business and to deliver for our customers. As a regulated business we are required to submit plans on a five-year cycle to the Australian Energy Regulator (AER), and in preparing our plan for 2024-2029 we want to take the opportunity to ensure this plan meets the needs of our customers in the short term and establishes the network to enable the transition to net zero as well as deal with the increasing challenges brought about by climate change.

To ensure our 2024-2029 Regulatory Proposal reflects the needs of our customers we are engaging broadly across all our customers groups, including commercial and industrial customers, to understand customers views on day-to-day issues such as tariffs and pricing, service levels, connection processes etc and on long term aspirations such as the transition to net zero, the impacts on businesses of climate change and extreme weather events such as storms which can cause extended unplanned outages.

We’re keen to talk to our large business customers to understand the role that electricity plays in your business, as well as the unique role that many of you play for the community in times of crisis. Our objective from these conversations is to understand how we can work together to achieve better outcomes for your organisation, Ausgrid and the broader community.

The energy network is changing

More extreme weather events including bushfires, floods and storms have emphasised the importance of moving to a low carbon future. The way we generate energy through renewable sources is driving change in the way Ausgrid operates. Energy delivery is being influenced by the adoption of new technologies such as solar, batteries and electric vehicles. Our pattern of energy use is evolving as we make changes to the way we live and work. Customer needs are also changing but the focus on energy affordability and good customer service remains constant.

All these factors mean we need to respond to keep delivering for customers today, while planning for the future network in a way that is inclusive and leaves no one behind. That's why we want you to take part and share your experiences and ideas.
