Ausgrid is the electricity distributor (electricity network) for large parts of Sydney, the Central Coast, Newcastle and the Hunter. We operate the poles, wires and streetlights delivering electricity to 1.8 million homes and businesses. We strive to connect communities and empower lives through the services we provide.

We’re planning for the future grid. Determining the right path for the future of energy is important but challenging. We would like your help, to make sure the services we offer and the grid of the future meets our customer’s needs.

We are talking to customers, businesses, local councils and industry stakeholders to understand your current experience of our energy network, what you want for the future, and how we should plan to get there in a way that is fair for everyone. This includes indepth conversations, customer discussion groups, a deliberative panel, surveys and our engagement website. Based on these discussions we will develop a draft proposal for feedback. This will be submitted to the Australian Energy Regulator (AER) for further consultation before the proposal is finalised. By involving customers in our decision making, we can strive for an energy network that works for everyone.
